Grace is an event planner. Recently she has begun working with the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kanas City. Her Dad, Tom Shaughnessy, agreed to indulge my museum junky tendencies and we planned a road trip from St. Louis to Kansas City.
Three hours (each way) on roads under serious enhancements with no shortage of conversation as Tom drove his comforable minivan. It was a perfect Friday evening at Margaritaville with Grace's boyfriend Caleb and his parents (JL and Amy-or Ann) in from Nebraska. A guitar playing singer covered David Bowie, Niel Young, George Harrison and more. I enjoyed fish n chips, while others selected from the menu that, of course, included Cheeseburger in Paradise. (Surely Jimmy Buffett, RIP 1946-2023, was smiling on the atmosphere he inspired for us on this warm September evening.)
